Two decades of growth, craftsmanship and shared success at Gerritsen Group.
How It Started
I had known Gerritsen since its early days as a transport company. At one point, Wim Gerritsen approached me and asked if I would consider joining the team. We knew each other from a previous employer. Back then, it was a small company with a close-knit team of hardworking people. That immediately appealed to me. The mentality was clear: work together, get the job done and do it properly.
From day one, I worked with full commitment and genuine enjoyment. What stood out most during that first period was the strong sense of unity. One team, one task. That feeling made me feel at home right away. From that moment on, I never seriously considered working anywhere else.
Growing with the Company
When I started, my current position did not even exist. Over the years, I was given the opportunity to shape and build that role myself. I progressed from truck-mounted crane operator to Project Manager, then moved into a coordinating role, and eventually took on the commercial responsibility as Senior Sales Manager.
Along the way, I completed various courses, particularly in communication. These helped me grow stronger in my role and better support customers with well-founded advice.

Gert-Jan Bergman
Senior Sales Manager
My name is Gert-Jan Bergman, and I have been working at Gerritsen Group since 2003. Today, I serve as Senior Sales Manager, but I originally started here as a truck-mounted crane operator. Looking back, that journey says everything about the opportunities this company offers. If you show initiative and take responsibility, there is real room to grow.

A defining moment in my development was when I realized that customers truly valued and relied on my advice. Whether a project ultimately goes ahead or not becomes secondary at that point. The trust you receive shows that you have grown, both as a professional and as a company.
Over the past twenty years, I have seen Gerritsen evolve from a small organization into an international market player. Being part of that journey and witnessing that growth up close is something special.
Safety and Craftsmanship
Safety plays a central role in my daily work. We are increasingly under scrutiny from clients, and rightly so. Everyone must return home safely at the end of the day, both our own people and those of our clients.
At Gerritsen, working safely is not up for debate. It is a given. You see this reflected in the way projects are prepared and executed. Careful planning, clear coordination and strict control are standard practice. Safety and quality are never compromised.
Craftsmanship is equally important. It is what sets us apart in the market. Where other parties often handle only part of the job, we deliver a complete solution. We make sure everything is right, from start to finish. That end-to-end approach provides certainty and positions us as a reliable partner.

Large in Scale, Personal in Culture
Despite our significant growth, the atmosphere within Gerritsen remains pleasant and down-to-earth. I value the straightforward mentality and the “coffee at the kitchen table” feeling that still exists. The lines of communication are short, and there are no barriers. If something needs to be discussed, you simply approach each other.
What I truly appreciate is that colleagues genuinely support one another. Leave no man behind. We help each other wherever possible and work together to deliver projects successfully. That team spirit is just as strong today as it was in the early days.
The moments when I genuinely think, “This is why I do it,” are when all our divisions come together to deliver a strong project and achieve outstanding results under pressure. That shared success remains the greatest reward.
Pride and the Future
I am most proud of the knowledge and expertise we have built as a company and of what we are able to achieve together. What we promise, we deliver. That reliability forms the foundation of everything we do.
In the coming years, I want to further deepen my role and continue developing myself. Five years from now, I hope we will have further stabilized our organization and become the European market leader in industrial relocations. With the scale, expertise and mentality we have today, that ambition is well within reach.
My Advice?
Are you considering applying? Just do it. You will step into a warm and welcoming environment with plenty of opportunities to grow or move into different roles.
If you enjoy working together with an enthusiastic team, taking responsibility and striving for strong results, then this is the place for you.
