Combining international complexity with a personal culture
A deliberate choice for scale and complexity
I joined Gerritsen after seeing a vacancy on Indeed. Just a few hours after applying, I received a phone call. After three interviews, one of which lasted nearly three hours, Linda presented me with a contract offer. That thorough process immediately gave me confidence.
What attracted me most to Gerritsen was the scale of the projects. Large volumes of materials, extensive equipment and hundreds of employees working across different shifts. That level of complexity appeals to me. It requires structure, overview and the ability to switch quickly.
Before I started, I did not know much about the company. As I always do, I checked social media and reviews beforehand. What I found was generally positive, and that impression has been confirmed in practice.
A dynamic start
My first period at Gerritsen was dynamic. The organisation was in the middle of a restructuring phase. As someone new to the company, that meant learning my role while also adapting to an environment that was still evolving.
Linda guided me intensively during the first weeks and introduced me to everyone in the building. Later, she and Jevgenija helped me further understand my position. That personal onboarding made a real difference.
And what stood out most? The JMG MC580S. The Batmobile. An impressive machine that clearly reflects the level at which this company operates.

Resource planner
My name is Daniel Floria. I am 35 years old and originally from Iași, Romania. For the past five months, I have been working at Gerritsen Group as a Resource Planner. In my role, I ensure that people, equipment and resources are in the right place at the right time so that projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Room to improve and contribute
My role continues to evolve. We are working on standardising and improving existing ways of working, from agreements with subcontractors to refining procedures that increase the team’s efficiency.
What I appreciate is that I do not feel limited to my own department. I have the space to look beyond my daily tasks, ask questions and contribute to improvements that support the wider operation.
Looking ahead, I see development particularly in implementing new technologies and further automation. That will be essential for the company’s continued growth.
Safety and craftsmanship
Safety is non negotiable for me. It is essential. We cannot risk anyone’s well being simply because it is convenient in a given situation. Every piece of equipment automatically goes to maintenance after finishing a project. No forklift is used if it is unsafe or uncertified. That level of discipline builds trust.
Craftsmanship is visible throughout the organisation. In the woodshop, where almost any size of goods can be packed. In the on site teams who continuously adapt to changing circumstances while meeting project deadlines. And internally, where plans are adjusted when necessary to meet customer expectations.
Large scale, yet personal
What makes Gerritsen stand out is its responsiveness. Sometimes we are able to start a new project within two days, deploying several trucks, materials and a full team. That decisiveness is impressive.
At the same time, the company maintains a personal culture. Despite operating internationally and handling large projects, people know each other. Communication is direct, and colleagues step in to help even when it goes beyond their formal responsibilities. I have experienced that more than once.
I am proud of the responsibility that comes with my role, of the international projects we execute and of the continuous effort to make them cost effective. I look forward to being involved in a truly massive project from the very beginning.
